Character Info
Name:Ginevra Molly Weasley "Ginny" or "Gin"
Age (as of 2 years after DH): 19
Pb: Renee Olstead
Wand: 9 1/2", Cedar, Unicorn Core
Patronus:
Boggart:
Character Background (Physical characteristics, personality, occupation, et. (at least 100 words)
Ginny is described as: Eye color: bright brown
Hair color: Vivid, flaming red, worn as a long mane
Build: the short Weasley variation, 5'3"
Distinguishing features: when her jaw is set, her facial resemblance to Fred and George is striking.
Ginny has a series of scars that cover her, from her rough play with her brothers as a child. She also accumulated a few scars from her play on the Quidditch team at school, and during the last year in her defiance of Lord Voldemort's staff at Hogwarts.
She likes her hair long, and tends to wear it back, in a ponytail or a braid. Her brown eyes are framed by long lashes, and she is smooth skinned, with only a smattering of freckles across her nose. She has the least freckles of the Weasley children, which she takes as a blessing.
Although not terribly tall, Ginny's presence can be felt acutely by her brothers; she is very much like Molly Weasley in how her displeasure can cause intimidation and terror in her siblings. Ginny is deceivingly strong and has ropey muscles from her Quidditch playing and her physical activity on a broom. She has a broad smile, and delights in laughing and cracking jokes, very much like the older twins. She has a developing bosom, and a nice figure that is rarely seen. She has a tendency to dress down her feminine side, but the longer she is locked up with Hermione, the more she has been pushing them to do 'girly' things for variety and entertainment. She has discovered that she likes her toes painted, and that longer nails make her fingers look more feminine. She has also been pouring over fashion magazines, evaluating styles and makeup. This is what has been occupying her brain of late, as she cannot act or help find the horcrux. She also has decided to focus on these self-improvements as a challenge, to distract Harry Potter, her boyfriend.
Personality:
Ginny is fiercely loyal, as are all of the Weasleys. She is stubborn, with a good sense of humor, and can be very positive. Unlike her brother Ron, she has far more confidence in her abilities and talents, and lacks no hesitation in believing in her self. She was spoiled slightly, and pet upon as a child, being the only girl. But she was the first to throw herself into any fray between brothers, and her confidence was encouraged as she demonstrated some good negotiating skills. Never one to back down from a challenge or a fight, Ginny can cast some especially nasty hexes when provoked.
Her confidence was demonstrated during her 6th year at Hogwarts, during the reign of Voldemorts' thugs in the school and during the war. With Neville, Ginny did everything she could to cause problems for the staff, and help maintain a strong, active resistance army of students. She was brave enough to face Bellatrix Lestrange, until her mother stepped in.
Ginny has flaws: she can be pig-headed and create her own messes by not listen to reason. She is not vain, but confident in her skills, and her time with Hermione has not diminished this fact. She has butt heads with everyone stuck in Grimmauld Place, because of her steadfast assurance that she has the correct solution. She is alright at cooking, and with practice, would become as good as her mother. She hates to clean up, but cannot stand a mess more, so for their time of isolation, Ginny has been a reluctant, live in maid at times.
Ginny's gifts tend to outweigh her flaws. She is quick to see the humor of a situation, and should she see the opportunity, will take advantage of it. She has a wonderful, cheering smile. She is physically affectionate, and will approach any member of their household, to offer a hug or a back massage as needed. She likes to sing, and can carry a tune beautifully.
After their 6th year, they were hustled into isolation. Over the last year, they have worked on studying for their NEWTS, under the suggestions of Hermione and Severus Snape. If things were resolved, Ginny's dream was to: either play professional Quidditch or become a healer. Both occupations appeal to different parts of her personality and use her skills.
Character Origin (their past) As per HP LEXICON
Profile of Ginny by Steve Vander Ark
Ginny is the youngest child and only daughter of Arthur and Molly Weasley, and the first girl born to the family in several generations. Though consistently underestimated by her family, she is a powerful witch and also quite popular.
Though she had been anxious to go, Ginny’s first year at Hogwarts was a stressful one, as she was regularly possessed by Tom Riddle and forced to open the Chamber of Secrets. At the end of the year she was taken into the Chamber, with the intent that she would be sacrificed to make Riddle’s memory fully human, until Harry destroyed the diary – a Horcrux – with a fang from Slytherin’s basilisk, and she was revived).
From her first meeting with him, Ginny was quite taken with Harry, and according to her it was a romantic interest she never lost. Relationships with Michael Corner and Dean Thomas didn’t work out, and when she finally caught Harry’s eye, it was for good – they began dating, but were separated for a year while Harry hunted down most of Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes.
Ginny is all at once savvy, snarky, and very self-confident. She once told Harry that she believes almost anything possible, “if you’ve got enough nerve”, and follows through on that belief. Despite being perpetually “too young” and overprotected by her mother, Ginny also flatly refused to be left behind, either when Harry took off for the Department of Mysteries or when Voldemort announced his intention to attack Hogwarts. She is a wicked mimic, skewering everyone from Umbridge to Fleur to her brother Ron.
Ginny's sixth year at Hogwarts must have been a nightmare. Muggle-born students were excluded, Severus Snape was headmaster and avowed Death Eaters given professorships. Ginny worked with Neville to revive Dumbledore's Army and organize the student resistance. During her Easter holidays, Death Eaters discovered that Ron was not sick in bed with spattergroit and the whole family moved to Aunt Muriel's house where it was safer. Ginny didn't return to school until it was attacked by Voldemort in May.
As Ginny was underage, she was supposed to stay in the Room of Requirement during the Battle of Hogwarts. When Harry needed the room to look for the Ravenclaw tiara, however, Ginny joined the fray. Later, when she was attacked by Bellatrix, Ginny's mother counterattacked and killed her psychopathic cousin. She was then hustled into a secret location, Grimmauld place, when Voldemort elluded death, and his last horcrux could not be found.
